“This year we pulled out a page from our ancestors of good old fashioned story telling. These stories are examples of how we have helped the people, helped the land and made a difference in the world. It’s our mission in action. Stories of resilience, imagination, possibility, resistance and innovation. Stories that inspire us to center Indigenous self-determination as model to tackle the most pressing issues facing humanity today. Reminding us all that those who are most impacted by the challenges we face should be in the driver seat of creating a path forward,” said Nick Tilsen, Oglala Lakota, Founder & CEO NDN Collective. “Often we have been asked what does all this investment of resources, organizing and capacity add up to. Our answer lives in the lived experience of our people, our communities and our nations. These are stories of never giving up, of fighting for survival while holding the responsibility that our struggle are examples of how to build a more just and equitable world for All People and Mother Earth”
