Administrative Associate – Legal and Compliance Team

Job Summary

Reporting to NDN’s General Counsel, the Legal & Compliance (L&C) Associate will work in an administrative capacity to support the Legal & Compliance Team. This position will be responsible for helping the L&C team with a variety of tasks related to its legal, compliance, and programmatic work across the ecosystem.  The L&C Associate will also provide administrative support to the NDN Collective Board of Directors.

The Position

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Board of Directors:  Providing administrative support for the NDN Collective Board of Directors – assisting with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, updating and maintaining records in BoardPaq, note taking at meetings, corresponding and following up with Board members on behalf of the L&C team, and organizing and archiving Board records.
  • Administrative Support:  Supporting the L&C Team’s internal administrative responsibilities by assisting with the updating of calendars, scheduling and note-taking at meetings; corresponding with other teams and members of the NDN Ecosystem on behalf of the L&C Team; organizing and archiving NDN Collective’s legal information and files; ensuring Expensify receipt reconciliation and expense coding is completed weekly, and other typical office administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, mailing, etc… . 
  • Programmatic Support:  Providing administrative assistance with the programmatic work of the L&C Team, such as managing logistics for trainings, events, meetings, and travel; ensuring follow-up tasks from trainings, events, and meetings are completed; and coordinating NDN’s meetings and communications with outside attorneys and community partners. 
  • Contributing to L&C Team efforts throughout the NDN Ecosystem by attending meetings and events as requested.
  • Performing other miscellaneous tasks to assist NDN’s General Counsel and the L&C Team

Who You Are

Education, Experience, Skills

  • Must have a High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous administrative or assistant experience necessary
  • Board of Directors or governing body administrative support experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient in Google Suite, MS Office Suite, and the ability to learn other systems, software, programs, and applications  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially well-refined email and phone etiquette
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and work independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Well-developed organizational and planning skills
  • Highly motivated and able to take initiative
