Dr. Lisl Schoepflin

President and Chair, Panta Rhea Foundation

Dr. Lisl Schoepflin is the president and chair of the Panta Rhea Foundation, a progressive family foundation that supports frontline communities in the Americas and Caribbean. She also serves as deputy chair of the Schöpflin Foundation based in Lörrach, Germany, trustee for Casa Gallina in Mexico City, Mexico, and trustee for the Spore Initiative in Berlin, Germany. She has been a member of Solidaire since 2015, served on their board and governance committee from 2020-2024, and is a co-facilitator of their Family Giving Solidarity Circle.

Lisl is also an historian of Latin American history. She completed her doctoral degree in 2023 at UCLA on Colonial Andean and Indigenous history and social memory, with a focus on the Inca and the Cusco region. She has lived and worked in places such as Brazil, Denmark, Peru, and the United States, but is currently based in Mexico City with her husband and two children.
