Day Two of Nick Tilsen’s Trial Wraps

Rapid City, SD – Today was day two of a planned three day trial involving Nick Tilsen, Founder & CEO of NDN Collective. Like yesterday, the courtroom was packed with supporters of Nick Tilsen from the local community.

Today, Nicholas Glass, the officer who filed the charges against Nick, was cross examined as the defense and prosecution presented video evidence. Two other officers present during the incident also took the stand. Nick Tilsen is expected to give testimony tomorrow, and a verdict by the jury is expected tomorrow (Wednesday) evening. 

“We’re honored to continue standing behind Nick, and look forward to hearing his testimony,” said Faith Spotted Eagle, elder and community leader. 

Last week, Rapid City community members delivered nearly 22,000 petition signatures to the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s Office, which called for the charges against Nick to be dropped. Additionally, 547 organizational leaders signed a letter of support for Nick over the weekend. 


Concluye el segundo día del juicio de Nick Tilsen

Rapid City, Dakota del Sur.– Hoy se llevó a cabo la segunda sesión de un juicio programado de tres días en el que está involucrado Nick Tilsen, fundador y director ejecutivo de NDN Collective. Al igual que ayer, la sala del tribunal estuvo llena de personas de la comunidad local, quienes acudieron para apoyar a Nick Tilsen.

Hoy, Nicholas Glass, el oficial que presentó los cargos contra Nick, fue interrogado por la defensa, mientras tanto la defensa y la fiscalía presentaron evidencia en video. Otros dos oficiales que estuvieron presentes durante el incidente también rindieron declaración ante el tribunal. Se espera que Nick Tilsen testifique mañana, y que el jurado emita un veredicto este mismo miércoles por la tarde.
