Job Summary

As a limited liability company, wholly owned by NDN Collective, NDN Holdings exists to serve as the social enterprise arm of the Collective ecosystem. The Managing Director co-leads the strategic direction and operational performance of the company’s  projects. This role ensures that each project aligns with the holding company’s long-term vision, financial objectives, social impact goals, and the empowerment of Indigenous communities. The NDN Holdings Managing director is a strong, detail-oriented person who delivers results-driven leadership to ensure the fulfillment of the company’s mission and priorities.

The Position

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create new or collaborative ways of ideating, developing and implementing community and organizational planning that prioritizes and engages the community.
  • In addition to strategic oversight, leads operational coordination across the organization’s investments, projects, and subsidiary businesses with special emphasis on sustainable ranching, real estate transactions, community development, and online retail. This includes guiding financial planning, evaluating investment opportunities, and implementing systems that improve efficiency, accountability, and performance, profitability, and social impact. 
  • Promote community engagement by ensuring quality and effectiveness, process planning and community engagement tailored to the particular project, level of participation to be achieved, timeframe and range of stakeholders affected. 
  • Lead efforts around community and organizational development to ensure long-term viability of projects, including but not limited to capacity building trainings, leadership development, and education initiatives.
  • Create and manage project budgets (development, construction, and operation) and implement and manage payment schedules.
  • Manage company employees and work closely with leadership to monitor performance, allocate resources, and support growth opportunities that strengthen the overall value of the portfolio. 
  • Liaise and manage relationships with governmental entities, utilities and environmental and engineering firms to meet all land use and permitting requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal staff/consultants in drafting and negotiating agreements.
  • Lead contract management of the project contracts, ensuring compliance with the terms and conditions as well as analyzing the agreements for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance and minimizing risk.
  • Other duties assigned.

Who You Are

Education and Experience

  • Degree: M.B.A. or related degree preferred. 
  • Relevant experience: Five+ years experience in business management, operational process development, and business planning.  
  • Business knowledge: The candidate should have general knowledge and experience in budgeting, supervising employees, accounting, master planning, marketing, and inventory management. 
  • General knowledge of best practices related to Indian country economic development, including navigating national and multi-jursidictional business operations, social impact investing, and tribal government structures.   
  • Technological skills: General skills in utilizing accounting software, project management, master planning, and POS systems.
  • Characteristics: Entrepreneurial, team oriented, strong communicator. 

Knowledge and Ability

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Independent worker who is comfortable working in a hybrid office 
  • Prior employee supervision experience 
  • Knowledge of Google Suite
