Grants Management Specialist – NDN Holdings, LLC

Job Summary

Reporting to the NDN Holdings Managing Director, the Grants Management Specialist will support the team in managing the overall effectiveness of operations and the utilization of the grants management systems and processes. The Grants Management Specialist will administer the planning and implementation of the transactional aspects of grantmaking within the grants management system, as well as its maintenance and refinement. This includes adhering and enforcing grantmaking parameters and the legal and compliance aspects of the process.

The Position

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages and supports the entire spectrum of grants requirements and funding streams for the organization beginning with grant applications, payments and reporting, all aspects of legal and compliance and grantmaking parameters, and appropriate record keeping. 
  • Manages grantmaking workflow in conjunction with the NDN Holdings team. 
  • Identifies and develops strategies to optimize the grants administration process for continuous improvements. 
  • Leads and manages the grants review process as it pertains to the utilization of the grants management system. 
  • Ensures that grants are implemented in accordance with funding allocations. 
  • Communicates and works closely with the  team to coordinate reviewing and reporting cycles.
  • Manages and coordinates grant timelines with NDN Holdings team, including upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities.
  • Assists in invoicing, accounting, reporting, and all other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of the grant process.
  • Prepares and maintains rubrics, reports, and other data collection for grants and data analysis and review.
  • Provides detailed reports for Team Leads and/or the NDN Collective Board of Directors with respect to grantee impact and progress.
  • Monitors grant related record-keeping and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs.
  • Provides training to new staff and others as needed on grants management, reporting requirements, and all required systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors or Masters degree preferred. 
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience 
  • Grant writing experience with success securing state and federal grants 
  • Prior grant management experience with a non-profit, tribal, or government agency, or other entity 
  • Experience working with data management systems 
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving Indigenous Peoples and/or the public in a mission-drive organization 
  • A solid understanding of budgets as they relate to proposals and grants, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in budgets for grant proposal 
  • Demonstrated ability to assess qualitative and quantitative outcome data and to provide technical assistance to grantees to help them achieve exemplary results

  • Experience with basic financial management skills including developing and monitoring budgets and financial reporting

  • Proficient in using computers with related knowledge of software programs and the Internet

This position is salaried at a GS Level 11 with a salary ranging from $60,000 – $75,000. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as 401(k) retirement plan, a wellness program, personal leave and professional development.
