Dr. Richard St Germaine

Dr. Richard St Germaine (he/him), is Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe. Dr. Richard St Germaine brings over five years of extensive experience in data science, analytics, and AI development. With a proven track record of success in healthcare industry and tribal data consulting, he is adept at developing innovative data strategies to drive organizational growth and impact, as well as deploying decolonization methodologies through Indigenous Data Sovereignty practices.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics, and a PhD in Statistics, all from the University of Minnesota, where he developed a comprehensive understanding of quantitative analysis and statistical methodologies across various disciplines. Richard has acquired numerous statistical, data science, and data engineering certifications from AWS, Microsoft, Python, SAS, and Google Certification programs.
Dr. St Germaine has been honored with prestigious awards, including winning the Amazon Alexa Prize in 2021, achieving 1st place in a Kaggle Grand Master Competition for Data Science innovations in 2022, and received recent nominations for CNN’s Fortune 40 under 40 and the National Center for American Enterprise Development’s Native American 40 under 40 for his AI development in tribal investments work. Outside of his professional endeavors, Ricky is an avid runner who also finds joy in attending drum ceremonials across Ojibwe reservations in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
