LANDBACK Organizer Demetrius Johnson Diné

Demetrius Johnson (He/Him/His), LANDBACK Organizer, is Diné from a community near Ganado, Arizona named Tółaní. Demetrius began community organizing, shortly after being elected as President of Kiva Club, around the disastrous Gold King Mine spill that affected his people in 2015. He is also a long-standing  lead organizer for The Red Nation. Demetrius has been a part of many campaigns and frontlines advocating for the liberation of Indigenous, LGBTQ2+, and working class people. Demetrius owes his political development to strong and inspiring Indigenous women. He is also a pie baker, basketball player, and contributor to The Red Deal: Indigenous Action to Save Our Earth.
