Conor Varela Handley (he/him), LANDBACK Campaign Organizer, is Yaqui and based out of Tucson, Arizona. He has a degree in Native American Studies: Environment and Natural Resources from Humboldt State University and is currently completing a masters in Wildlife Conservation from University of Arizona. He has wide-ranging experience in the global struggle for environmental justice, racial equity and Indigenous land stewardship. In the past Conor has worked as a tribal environmental biologist, grass-roots organizer and creator of Indigenous centered media. His work is rooted in a deep respect for the land and the desire to protect it for all future generations.
